I just wanted to say how sad I am to not participate in the race again this year as a SEVEN YEAR CANCER SURVIVOR and a mom of a 2 year old and a 9 month old. Last year I was not able to walk in the race because I had just had a baby the week before and this year I am thrilled to be walking in the race with both my boys. It is absolutely amazing to know I beat cancer and was able to bring a life into the world not once but twice. Six years ago I was the Cancer Free Bride and I was so exciting to run on my Wedding Day. Having everyone come out and help me run/walk in the race and then off to the church to marry the most AMAZING man in my life was awesome. Andy has stood by my side through this journey and now our two little men will join in on the fight!. NOW together as a family we will run/walk/sleep-in to help find a CURE!
Seven years ago it took all the energy I had to just walk from the parking lot to the race. I had just received chemo the day before. To be able to run/walk/sleep in the race this year again as a Seven year cancer survivor and a mom of a two year old and a 9 month old just shows how amazing medicine is and what a difference seven years can make. Please help support me and my Team of Young Cancer Survivors!
What am I doing?
I'm walking to support the Greater Roanoke Valley Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure because I want to make a difference in the fight against breast cancer. Please help me reach my fundraising goal by making a tax-deductible donation today.
