General Race Information
Q. When is the Race?
A. The Race will be held on Saturday, May 5, 2018.
Q. Where is the Race?
A. The Race will be held at the Alamodome, Lot C.
Q. How much is the registration fee?
Online registration will close on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at noon. Registrations after that day will take place at Onsite Registration on Thursday, May 3rd and Friday, May 4th.
Q. Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
A. No, your registration fee helps with event production costs for the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you donate above the registration fee is tax-deductible and helps locals get access to breast cancer healthcare.
Q. What is included in the registration fee?
A. You will receive a 2018 Susan G. Komen San Antonio Race for the Cure® t-shirt and Race bib. Packets will start to ship on March 26, 2018. Survivors will receive a pink shirt in place of a white race shirt.
Q. How can I register?
A. You can register online by clicking here.
Q. Can I register multiple people under the same e-mail?
A. Our system only allows one e-mail per registration. If registering as a survivor, there is a prompt that will ask you if you'd like to register someone else after the first registration is completed. You can continue to register as many people using the same e-mail address, but it must be done in one sitting.
Q. How will I receive my Race packet including t-shirt?
A. Packets can be picked up for free at on-site packet pick-up on May 3 and 4, 2018 at the Alamodome, Lot C. Or you can add packet shipping to your registration for $7 per person. You must be registered by Friday, April 20th at noon if you would like your packet shipped. Packets will start to ship on March 26, 2018.
Q. How long is the Race?
A. The Race is a 5K walk/run, which is approximately 3.1 miles. There is also a shorter route option, the "Family Fun Run," which is approximately one mile. You can choose to walk or run either route. If you are unable to walk or run, you can still register and join us on Race day virtually.
Q. How can I win an award at the Race?
A. Three awards will be given out to the top competitive runners in the following categories: Top Survivor, Top Male Runner and Top Female Runner.
Q. How can I become a volunteer?
A. The success of the Komen San Antonio Race depends heavily on the support we receive from our volunteers in the months leading up to the Race and on Race Day. There are many ways you can get involved. For more information, please click here.
Q. Are pets and strollers allowed at the event?
A. Pets, with the exception of service animals, are prohibited from the event, but strollers are permitted.
Q. What if it rains?
A. Komen holds the right to cancel or change the date or location of the Race in its sole discretion, including in the circumstance of extreme weather conditions. It is likely, however, that the event will happen rain or shine. Please dress accordingly.

Q. How do I set-up group billing?

Q. Does the money raised stay right here in our community?
A. Yes! Race for the Cure makes an impact. 100% of net proceeds provide local breast cancer screening, treatment assistance, breast health education, and pain relief services for patients without insurance. Komen San Antonio also supports groundbreaking breast cancer research and scientific initiatives at UT Health San Antonio.
Q. Where do I send donations?
A. Donations can be mailed to: P.O. Box 6678, San Antonio, TX 78209.
For donations on behalf of an individual participant or a team, please include that information with your check.
Q. Is there a deadline for fundraising?
A. All donations must be received by Tuesday, June 5, 2018 to be credited towards your fundraising goal.
The fundraising deadline to be eligible for the Top Team Village ($3,500 minimum) is April 20, 2018 at noon. Top Fundraising Individual, Teams, and Survivor/Fighter will also be determined for Race day recognition.

Q. When will I receive my fundraising incentives?
A. Your fundraising incentives are calculated based on the total fundraising dollars you have collected individually. Every participant who raises $250 or more by April 20, 2018 will receive a Fundraising Finisher Medal on Race day. The 2018 Top Fundraising Individuals, Teams, and Survivor/Fighter will be contacted on April 23, 2018 with Race day details and award information.

Q. How do I form a team?
A. Please visit our Race website and hit the, "Register Now" button. It will then prompt you to "Re-form" or "Join a Team." For more information, please contact us at 210.222.9009 or e-mail email@example.com.
Q. What are the benefits of a team?
A. Forming or joining a team multiplies the fun you will have on Race day. You can create a team to celebrate a survivor or honor someone you have lost. You can also create a corporate team and get your entire company involved. There are great contests and incentives for teams. To learn more, click here.
Q. Do teams have to fundraise?
A. Fundraising helps local breast cancer fighters and survivors receive the care they need. Imagine the impact a team of 10 members could have if they all raised just $10. Your team could provide four round-trip rides to treatment or one life-saving mammogram. Click here to get a list of "fun"draising events your team can do.
Q. One of my team members registered as an individual when they meant to join my team. How can I correct this?
A. Please contact Komen San Antonio at 210.222.9009 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to get this corrected.
Q. Can donations made to a team be split or shared among team members?
A. Unfortunately, we are unable to split or transfer donations between individual and team accounts.
Q. Will there be an area for my team to meet-up on Race day?
A. There is not a designated area for teams to meet on Race day. However, if your team raises $3,500 on or before Friday, April 20 at noon, you will be invited to join the party in our Top Team Village area and enjoy VIP treatment on Race day!
